Impala Pictures is a production company based in Bristol, UK headed up by documentary film-maker Patrick Morris.

The company specializes in independent co-productions about wildlife and the environment for film and television, bringing together the very best talent in the industry to make films of distinction to the highest editorial standards.

Impala Pictures recently co-produced Canada: Surviving the Wild North for PBS and Terra Mater, which won the gold award at the 2023 New York TV and Film festival 2023, and a series of films for BBC’s The One Show, and has other exciting projects in advanced stages of development. 

Patrick is also executive producer on the Brian Leith Productions global environmental series The Future of Nature for PBS, BBC Studios and ARTE, and two other ambitious projects with ZED and Le Cinquième Rêve in France. 

Prior to this Patrick was executive producer on the series China’s Wild Empire, The Age of Nature, Kalahari: Land of Secret Alliances and Wild Tales from the Farm for broadcasters such as PBS, National Geographic, ARTE, Love Nature, BBC and France Télévisions. He also produced, directed and wrote many BBC landmarks such as the David Attenborough series Life, Wild Africa, British Isles: A Natural History and Wild Europe, and over a dozen wildlife specials such Dune, Hokkaido: Garden of the Gods, People of the Sea, Africa’s Paradise of Thorns, The Lions Share, Wings over the Serengeti and Islands in the African Sky. 

Patrick’s films have received the highest accolades in the industry, twice winning Best of Festival at Jackson Wild and three times Best Limited Series, as well as a host of other Wildscreen, Royal Television Society, IWFF, BAFTA and EMMY awards and nominations. 

He also won a Peabody from the University of Georgia with the festival director describing his film Galapagos: Born of Fire as ‘a stunning blend of visuals, music and narration … one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen’.
